The Drinks of Bermondsey Street
The Drinks of Bermondsey Street

I remember when I first visited Bermondsey Street 10 years ago. Heading away from fashionable Borough Market past London Bridge station it suddenly felt like

a) you were lost

b) you were heading across the wrong side of the tracks - West Side Story style...

.... and then I arrived at this oasis of independent bars, restaurants, clothes shops and galleries and have been enjoying drinks on Bermondsey Street ever since.

Easy to miss - yet hidden in plain site and adjacent to the countries fourth largest train station it was a place "for those who know" although the secret was out when Vogue Magazine declared it London’s coolest street back around 2009 (if memory serves me correctly).

At Cocktails in the City we want you to discover new bars, destinations, cocktails and flavours and so today it is all about Bermondsey Street and we have selected three of the finest to appear at this years event London event; The Hide Bar, Chapter 72 and 214 Bermondsey.

Here is a summary of the drinks you can enjoy from the Bermondsey crowd and we have interviewed each bar owner in more detail on separate blogs as they are all multitalented individuals, Nick from 214 is also a brand owner, Rod at Chapter 72 a brand ambassador and Paul at The Hide Bar is a former drinks writer and now multiple bar operator.

Check them out at Cocktails in the City London this spring and head down to Bermondsey Street, you won't be disappointed.
